The Game Awards, known as the Oscars of the gaming industry, revealed its winners on December 8th in Los Angeles, USA. Baldur's Gate 3 was crowned as Game of the Year, plus five other awesome awards: Best Performance, Best Community Support, Best RPG, Best Multiplayer Game and Players' Voice.
Another strong contender, Alan Wake 2, managed to win 3 awards at this year's TGA, including Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, and Best Art Direction.
Other award-winning games are as follows: Final Fantasy 16 won the Best Score/Music Award. The open-world sandbox adventure game, Tchia, received the Games for Impact Award. Cyberpunk 2077 achieved a reputation turnaround in three years and won the Best Ongoing Game Award. Released in May, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was also one of the hottest games this year, winning the Best Action/Adventure Game Award at this year's TGA. Honkai: Star Rail from miHoYo won the Best Mobile Game Award, adding another world award to its collection after being named the best iPhone game on the App Store in 2023 and Google Play's 2023 Best Game.
Additionally, Sea of Stars won Best Indie Game, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was recognized as the Most Anticipated Game and other award-winning games as well.
Apart from the awards, many game developers also announced their latest news at TGA.
New Persona 3 Reload Trailer appeared at TGA. Fans were thrilled to learn that the game will hit the shelves on February 2, 2024.
Capcom's Monster Hunter Wilds will be available online in 2025. Much-anticipated GTA 6 from Rockstar Games will also be released in the same year. During the event, Black Myth: Wukong, a Chinese action game, wowed fans with a brand-new story trailer. The game's developers also revealed that it's set to be released on August 20, 2024, and will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox platforms all at the same time.
